King Aleksandar Monument

Basic info

The original monument to King Aleksandar I Karađorđević was erected in 1939, but it was removed and destroyed at the beginning of Communist rule in 1946. The new monument to King Aleksandar I Karađorđević was erected in 2004 in honor of the ruler who was the creator of the idea of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. The monument is the work of Belgrade sculptor ZoranIvanović.
