Basic info
Jelašnica gorge is positioned in the Southwest of Suva mountain, 15 km from Nis. The Jelašnica River cuts its way through limestone rocks ofSuva mountainand creates a real rarity of the nature – the Jelašnica Gorge. In the length of only 2 km, many different morphological forms can be seen, as well as a large number of endemic and relict species.

By bus: Bus no 21, Nis – Gornja Studena (Bus station for local bus lines, near the main bus station, Djuke Dinic Street).

- Serbian Ramonda (RamondaSerbica) and Natalie’s Ramonda (RamondaNathaliae), relict plant spieces

FLORA: The symbols of the gorge are Serbian ramonda (RamondaSerbica) and Natalie’s ramonda (RamondaNathaliae), which are plant rarities of global importance and living fossils from the Tertiary (ice age).
FREE CLIMBING: Jelasnica gorge is the first climbing ground in Serbia designated only for sports climbers. There are more than 200 free climbing routes with completely attested equipment.
