The owner of Andonovic’s Palace was a wealthy merchant from Niš, AndonAndonović, one of the largest importers of clothes from Italy, France, England and Greece in that period. With its appearance and decorations, the building truly resembled a real palace.

The façade of Andonovic’s Palace is covered with deep relief, with beautiful pilasters and capitals. The middle portion is decorated with a proportional figure of a man bearing a coin purse in one hand, as a sign of wealth, and a scepter in the other, as a sign of power.
